Nissan - Monozokuri Caravan
Year 6 visited Nissan to participate in a programme which incorporated the Japanese idea of see, hear and touch. The STEM based project offered the children the opportunity to compete in teams to build a model Lego car, a chance to try out some of the tools used in the Nissan factory and gain insight into the production of the Juke, Leaf and Qashqi cars - all of which are built here in Sunderland.
We loved testing our reflexes, challenging robots and having a tour of the training workshop. We also learnt how Nissan play their part in looking after our environment, creating sustainable vehicles and producing their own power through ten wind turbines purchased on eBay at a cost of 5 million pounds!
Lots of us have been inspired to peruse a career at Nissan when we leave school - check out some of the photographs from the day!
